Lasting Change
Leveraging Passion Into Lasting Protection
The numbers tell a powerful story. Since 1993, the Jackson Hole One Fly Foundation has raised over $3.4 million, which when combined with matching funds from partners, has generated more than $27.9 million in total conservation funding. But statistics alone cannot capture the true impact of this work—the quiet satisfaction of watching native cutthroat trout rise in restored spawning habitat, or the knowledge that critical water rights have been secured for future generations.

Our Conservation Footprint
Geographic Reach: Our funding extends across the Snake River Basin, from the pristine headwaters in Yellowstone National Park to the agricultural valleys of eastern Idaho. Primary focus areas include the Snake River mainstem, South Fork Snake River, Teton River, and dozens of smaller tributaries that serve as crucial spawning and rearing habitat.
Strategic Partnerships: We don’t work alone. Our most successful projects emerge from collaborations with Trout Unlimited chapters, state fish and game agencies, the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and local conservation districts. This partnership model ensures our funding supports scientifically sound initiatives with long-term monitoring and maintenance plans.

Conservation Focus Areas
Project Categories: Habitat restoration forms the backbone of our work, including stream channel reconstruction, riparian area enhancement, and fish passage improvements. Water quality initiatives address agricultural runoff, mine remediation, and urban impacts. Educational programs engage the next generation of conservationists through youth fishing camps and in-school curricula.
Measurable Outcomes: Our funded projects have restored over 150 miles of critical habitat, improved fish passage on 23 stream systems, and enhanced spawning success for native cutthroat trout populations throughout the region. Water quality improvements benefit not just fish, but entire aquatic ecosystems and the communities that depend on clean water.

Forward-Looking Conservation
Innovation and Adaptation: As challenges evolve, so does our approach. Recent initiatives include climate resilience planning, invasive species management, and habitat connectivity projects that help fish populations adapt to changing conditions. We’re also expanding our support for research that guides more effective conservation strategies.
The true measure of our impact isn’t just in restored habitat or improved water quality—it’s in the growing network of people who understand that protecting these resources is both a privilege and a responsibility. Every project we fund strengthens this community of stewardship.
