Trout Stream Improvement

Burns Creek Fish Weir Spawning Bed Rehabilitation

Year

$40,000 Another joint project with U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Game and Fish and One Fly. This is a major project to stop erosion of Burns Creek, the top spawning stream of the South Fork from damaged irrigation ditches and to control fish movement in the irrigation system. This project will increase the upstream movement of the Snake River Cutthroat and limit rainbow intervention during spawning. The project started construction the summer of 2000, and is a major step in increasing the fish population on the South Fork of the Snake River.
